By downloading, opening, or playing Backgammon, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the app and remove it from your device.
Use of the Game
Backgammon is provided for personal, non-commercial entertainment. You may use the app to play matches against the built-in opponent or a second player on the same device, save and resume matches, play the daily challenge, view history, statistics, and achievements, work through the tutorial and rules reference, and change board themes. You may not misuse the app, interfere with its services, attempt to bypass ads or reward checks, manipulate leaderboard results, reverse engineer protected parts of the app, or use it in a way that violates applicable law.
Gameplay, Dice, and the Opponent
Backgammon implements standard backgammon rules, including bearing off, hitting and re-entering from the bar, gammons and backgammons, match play to a set number of points, and the doubling cube. Dice rolls are produced by a pseudo-random generator; the daily challenge uses a fixed seed derived from the date so that every player receives the same opening position that day. The computer opponent plays at the difficulty you select and is not guaranteed to play perfectly. Rules coverage, opponent strength, difficulty levels, daily challenge behavior, and saved-match handling may be adjusted, corrected, added, or removed in future updates.
Advertising and Rewards
Backgammon may show a banner on the main menu, a full-screen ad after a match ends, and rewarded ads through Google AdMob or similar advertising services. Hints are optional and may require watching a rewarded ad; rewards are granted only when the advertising provider confirms that the reward was earned. Ad availability, delivery, and reward confirmation are not guaranteed and may depend on network conditions, device settings, region, or provider availability.
In-App Purchases
Backgammon offers one-time, non-consumable in-app purchases: Remove Ads, which hides the menu banner and the post-match full-screen ad, and optional board themes, which are cosmetic and never change how the game plays. There are no subscriptions and no recurring charges. Purchases are processed by Apple and tied to your Apple ID, so they can be restored on your other devices using Restore Purchases. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms, not by us. Removing ads does not remove the optional rewarded hint, which remains available if you choose to use it.
iCloud and Game Center
iCloud sync and Game Center are optional conveniences provided by Apple. We do not control their availability, and we are not responsible for sync delays, conflicts, leaderboard resets, or data held in your Apple account. Only the first daily challenge attempt of a day is ranked. We may remove scores we reasonably believe were obtained by manipulating the app or the device clock.
Intellectual Property
Backgammon, including its design, code, gameplay experience, text, graphics, board themes, and related content, is owned by us or licensed to us. Backgammon as a game is in the public domain; these terms cover this particular app. They give you permission to use the app; they do not transfer ownership of the app or any related intellectual property.
Availability and Changes
We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of Backgammon at any time. We work to keep the game stable and enjoyable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free play, permanent availability of every feature, or compatibility with every device or operating system version.
No Warranty and Limitation of Liability
Backgammon is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost progress, data loss, device issues, ad unavailability, sync failures, or inability to use the app.
