Overview
Backgammon does not require an account, login, name, phone number, or email address to play. The game is played entirely on your device against the built-in opponent or a second player on the same device. Most information is stored locally so the app can save and resume your match.
Information Stored on Your Device
Backgammon stores in-progress match state, board position, dice results, move and undo history, doubling cube value, match score and target, completed match history, difficulty, daily challenge results and streaks, achievement progress, lifetime statistics such as win rate and results by difficulty, purchases you have made, and app settings such as the selected board theme and reduced-motion preference. This information is used to run the game, restore saved matches, keep your history and stats, unlock achievements, and remember your preferences.
iCloud Sync
If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud Drive is enabled for Backgammon, your match history, daily challenge results, statistics, and achievement progress sync through Apple's CloudKit service so the same progress appears on your other devices. This data is stored in your own private iCloud database under your Apple ID. We do not have access to it, and it is governed by Apple's privacy policy. You can turn the sync off in iOS Settings, and the game continues to work with local data only.
Game Center
Game Center is optional. If you sign in, Backgammon submits your daily challenge result to a daily leaderboard and can show leaderboards and achievements through Apple's Game Center interface. What is submitted is your score for that day; your Game Center identity, alias, and friend relationships are managed by Apple, not by us, and are governed by Apple's privacy policy. Declining or signing out of Game Center does not limit any part of the game other than leaderboards.
Advertising Partners
Backgammon is free and supported by ads served by Google AdMob in three places: a banner on the main menu, a full-screen ad after a match ends, and an optional rewarded ad you can choose to watch in exchange for a move hint.
To do this, Google may access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and receive ad performance data, ad interaction data, approximate location derived from your IP address, and diagnostic information, in order to select ads, measure their performance, and prevent fraud. This identifier is used for tracking across apps and websites. Google's handling of that information is governed by its own policies, at policies.google.com/privacy and policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
You control this. Before the first ad appears, iOS asks whether you allow tracking across apps and websites. Choosing Allow means ads may be personalized using your advertising identifier. Choosing Ask App Not to Track means your advertising identifier is not shared and the ads you see are non-personalized. Either answer leaves the game completely unchanged — nothing is locked, delayed, or degraded — and you can change your mind at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, then Tracking. You can also use Google's own ad controls at myadcenter.google.com.
Buying Remove Ads stops this entirely: no ads are shown, no ad requests are made, and you are never asked about tracking.
Purchases
Backgammon offers one-time in-app purchases: Remove Ads and optional cosmetic board themes. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store using your Apple ID. We never see or receive your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID password. The app records only which items you own, so it can unlock them and restore them on your other devices.
Analytics
Backgammon does not include an analytics SDK. We do not track how you use the app beyond what your advertising and platform settings allow the services described above to collect.
Diagnostics and Support
If you contact support or send a bug report about Backgammon, the message may include information you choose to provide plus diagnostic details such as app name, app version, device model, iOS version, difficulty, match status, and recent app events. We use support information only to respond to you, investigate issues, improve the app, and handle legal or privacy requests.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal gameplay data. We may share limited information with service providers that help operate the app, such as advertising, diagnostics, email, or platform services. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to enforce our terms.
Children
Backgammon is intended for a general audience. The app does not knowingly request personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information through support email, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Your Choices and Controls
You can delete locally stored Backgammon data by removing the app from your device. You can stop iCloud sync by disabling iCloud for Backgammon in iOS Settings, and you can sign out of Game Center at any time. You can manage ad tracking, personalized ads, and other privacy controls in iOS Settings. You may also contact us at magirachip5@gmail.com for privacy questions or deletion requests related to information you sent to support.
Retention and Security
Local gameplay data remains on your device until you delete it, reset app data, or remove the app. Data synced to iCloud remains in your Apple account until you remove it there. Support messages are kept only as long as reasonably needed for support, operational, legal, or security purposes. We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no app, device, network, or email system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy when Backgammon, advertising services, platform requirements, or legal requirements change. The latest version will be available on this page.
